چکیده

5 Between groups design In a between groups design, the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable is based upon the examination of group differences. In a true experimental design, one group receives a treatment or intervention (known as the treatment group), and the comparison group typically experiences no treatment (the control group). 6 Between groups design However, studies can be conducted in which two separate treatments are being compared. For example, a counseling agency may wish to determine if counselors employing a person-centered approach have better outcomes than counselors using a cognitivebehavioral approach when working with clients diagnosed with PTSD.  In this case, what are the two treatments being compared?

Formation of Poly(vinylidenefluoride) Nanofibers: Part I Optimization by Using of Central Composite Design

Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) nanofibers were prepared via electrospinning process. Several different factors influence on this process and application of experimental design for its optimization is of great importance. The central composite design (CCD) was used for planning and optimizing of the experiments and also, the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was employed for the statistical va...

Numerical and Experimental Investigations for Design of a High Performance Micro-hydro-kinetic Turbine

Design and manufacturing of a high performance micro-hydro-kinetic turbine is discussed in the present paper. The main goal is manufacturing an equipped experimental model of hydro-kinetic turbine with highest energy absorption from water current. A multi-shape ducted turbine comprised of a multi-part diffuser was manufactured that can be converted to many experimental models for studying vario...

The Impact of Developing Thinking Instructional Design Model on Aggression as a basis for Adolescent Immoral Behaviors

Background: Aggression is one of the factors underlying immoral behaviors. Thinking education can prevent aggression. The goal of this research, developing a thinking instructional design model based on Vigotsky's Social-Cultural Theory and assessing its impact on reducing aggression is one of the factors underlying students' immoral behaviors. Method: The research method is mixed and the resea...

Theory of Model-Based Geophysical Survey and Experimental Design Part B – Nonlinear Problems

This is the second of a two-part tutorial, the first part of which is in Curtis (2004). Between Parts A and B this tutorial provides a theoretical framework from the field of Statistical Experimental Design (SED – a field of statistics) within which modelbased survey and experimental design problems and methods can be understood. Specifically, these tutorials describe methods that are pertinent...

Design theory and practice

The method of conducting research significantly influences its progress and quality. This study advocates for subscribing to the scientific method of performing research, namely, generating theories, conducting experiments to support or refute them, and refining the theories. The arguments in favor of this method are discussed in the two parts of the paper. Part I critically reviews General Des...
